When you start getting enthusiastic about collecting watches, you’re usually not far from developing a love for horology and watchmaking in general. A few, like myself, begin to tinker on old pocket watches and give up when we realize that it is, in fact, fucking difficult…and your ADHD doesn’t afford you the patience to work slowly and methodically. Most, though, will immerse themselves in the vast history of the craft: from Breguet to Huygens, Wilsdorf to Genta. In addition to the technical history, there’s the realization of the roles that watches have played in pop culture.
