When I first heard that taking watchmaking classes was a thing, the idea sounded equal parts amazing and terrifying. I felt drawn to the experience as an excitable watch collector, but immediately manufactured reasons why I shouldn’t do it: I’d likely be bad at it and embarrass myself, and other layered versions of that concern. But life is too short to avoid embarrassing yourself. So, I decided to do it.
